Yard Crashers is a popular DIY (Do It Yourself) TV show that picks out people from various locales and “crashes” their back yard to give them a complete redone and gorgeous “new” back yard. It’s a lot of fun and a grand treat for the recipients. It can also be a sweet delight for anyone who might buy the home next – such as a delightful old home Roseville, CA
That’s right! This Yard Crashers back yard was featured in Yard Crashers – A Music Lover’s Holiday Yard. They did a gorgeous job on it and it’s still beautiful today. AND it’s in the back yard of a lovely old 1928 home in the historic area of Roseville, walking distance to Downtown Roseville.
This 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home has a rich history that includes railroad fan delights. Once a tortilla factory, it was remodeled adding on third bedroom and second bathroom and purchased by one of the railroad employees who lived there happily for over 40 years. In fact, many of the homes in this area were built for and provided great homes for railroad employees. The sights and sounds of the trains continue to this day. One of my husband’s favorite things about Roseville and something that always intrigued my uncle – both mega railfans – real and model trains.
There’s plenty of room to spread out in this sweet home thats been beautifully updated – inside and outside.
The generous kitchen and counter space and formal living and dining room provide plenty of options.
Like many of the vintage homes in this area, this lovely old home offers plenty of extra storage space in the basement, as well. A great place to store all your plastic totes full of Christmas decorations, winter and summer clothes and home decor, and more.
The laundry room is huge. There’s enough room to have your washer, dryer, AND a treadmill. Set it up to face the back yard and you can get great exercise while enjoying a lovely view of your Yard Crashers back yard retreat.
And what a sweet retreat it is. From the musical screen, providing shelter on windy days, and a lovely view both day and night.
Notice how the lights shine through the musical notes at night.
There’s plenty of room for playing, eating, games, and more in this huge back yard. And there is plenty of mature landscaping as well, including delicious lemon trees!
If you feel like taking an outside walk for exercise, there are so many great options. You can walk up to the historic old post office and brand new (and gorgeous) City Hall. Many of the Downtown Roseville events – from parades to Downtown Tuesday Night to Food Truck Mania to Christmas activities to family concerts and more are held in this area. You can enjoy visiting there without having to worry about parking!
